Outback History brought back to life at Holowiliena Station
Luke Frahn was a world travelling sheep shearer before he met his wife and settled at their Flinders Ranges home...
NOW LIVING THE DREAM
IN OUTBACK SOUTH AUSTRALIA
Since restoring the historic buildings at Holowiliena, Luke has brought the Blacksmith's Shop back to life.
Largely a self-taught blacksmith, supported by some wonderful mentors,
he's on a mission to keep the history of the family farm alive.
Luke's skills at the forge are quickly catching up with his naturally artistic eye and his love of the outback lifestyle.
The Outback Blacksmith started as a hobby and became a happiness project to help the family through severe drought.
Now, Holowiliena History Tour guests will often find the Outback Blacksmith at work on tour days, with a limited range of goods available for purchase by onsite guests.
50km from Cradock in South Australia's Flinders Ranges,
Holowiliena Station is now open for accommodation, camping and guided tours.
As a small business welcoming guests to our home,
we aim to help you enjoy your authentic outback experience.
PLEASE NOTE: Luke's time at the forge is limited by farm work commitments, so be sure to check tour availability in advance.
